Meet our Executive Director and Founder

Allow us to introduce you to Imani Peterkin, the driving force behind our organization as both Executive Director and Founder. Hailing from Columbia, South Carolina, Imani brings a blend of personal warmth and professional acumen to her role.

Imani's journey is marked by significant milestones, including her attainment of a Bachelor of Business Administration in December 2020, a remarkable achievement as a first-generation college student. Rooted in a lineage of educators and childcare providers, she has cultivated a deep understanding of the importance of nurturing young minds. Her hands-on experience working with youth at Fort Jackson's Child and Youth Services, as well as within her church community, has further honed her commitment to serving others.

Driven by her own encounters with adversity and triumph, Imani is fueled by an unwavering passion to make a tangible difference in the lives of young girls and their families within our community. Her intimate familiarity with the challenges faced by Columbia's youth fuels her determination to ensure that every girl and family receives equitable access to education and resources.

Imani holds firm to the belief that it truly does "take a village" to cultivate the leaders of tomorrow. With her blend of empathy, resilience, and vision, she stands ready to lead our community towards a brighter future.
